SafeSpace Global and BMRT Security Enter Binding Exclusive Agreement to Advance Detection of Concealed Weapons and Drugs for America’s Schools and Correctional Facilities

Using AI to spot the guns and drugs BEFORE they KILL.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SafeSpace Global Corporation (OTCID: SSGC) (“SafeSpace Global” or the “Company”), a publicly traded, multimodal AI-powered physical safety and security technology company, today announced that it has entered into a binding exclusive agreement with BMRT Security, Inc. (“BMRT Security”) for the use and deployment of BMRT technology in educational and correctional facilities.

This step advances the companies’ previously announced letter of intent and focuses their work on two urgent safety challenges: identifying concealed weapons before they reach school buildings, and detecting concealed narcotics and other prohibited materials before they enter secure correctional environments. SafeSpace Global and BMRT Security intend to pursue an integrated security platform that combines Base Molecular Resonance detection at distance with SafeSpace Global’s multimodal physical AI, human verification and 911 inform emergency response ecosystem.

SafeSpace Global has exclusivity pursuant to the agreement for a period of 120 days which can be extended pursuant to certain conditions.

“This agreement represents an important step for SafeSpace Global and our mission to improve how America protects its children,” said Scott M. Boruff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SafeSpace Global. “Our goal has never been simply to detect a weapon after it enters a school. Our goal is to identify a potential threat before it reaches the door. By combining BMRT’s detection technology with SafeSpace Global’s multimodal physical AI, human verification and 911inform’s emergency response capabilities, we believe we are working toward an additional layer of proactive security. Every additional second of warning can matter when lives are at stake, and we believe this exclusive relationship has the potential to meaningfully influence how schools and correctional facilities detect and respond to threats.”

“This is a significant milestone for both companies,” said Dustin Hillis, President of SafeSpace Global. “By bringing together BMRT, SafeSpace Global and 911inform, we are advancing toward a comprehensive security platform designed to give schools across America the ability to identify potential threats earlier, verify what is happening and respond sooner, with the goal of helping protect students and staff before violence occurs.”

Two Technologies, One Mission

BMRT Security, Inc. is focused on applying proprietary Base Molecular Resonance (BMR) technology to security and public safety applications. BMR is designed to detect molecular resonance characteristics associated with specific materials and compounds. It is intended to identify signatures associated with ammunition, explosives, narcotics and other controlled materials from distance, including in scenarios where items may be concealed in a backpack, behind a barrier or within a moving vehicle, without requiring individuals to stop, empty belongings or pass through a conventional security checkpoint.

The BMR platform is supported by a portfolio of patent assets and has reported strong results in both an independent university validation study involving blind and double-blind testing and a subsequent United States Combatant Command-sponsored test. These results are specific to controlled testing environments and may not necessarily reflect performance in all real-world conditions.

SafeSpace Global’s camera-agnostic, multimodal physical AI platform works with existing camera infrastructure to support real-time visual weapons detection, license plate recognition, identity recognition, AI-assisted investigations and human verification. Through 911inform, verified alerts can be connected with emergency notifications, building intelligence and coordinated response workflows designed to support timely action by schools and other facilities.

The Vision: Earlier Awareness, More Time to Protect

The companies share an objective of shortening the time between the first indication of a potential threat and the moment it can be stopped—before students, educators or correctional personnel are placed in danger. For a school, the envisioned platform would work in five stages:

  1. Molecular detection at the perimeter. BMRT technology is intended to detect the nitrocellulose signature associated with ammunition entering a school campus, whether concealed on a person, inside a backpack or within a moving vehicle.
  2. AI tagging and identification. That detection would prompt the SafeSpace Global visual AI system to tag the vehicle, read its license plate and compare available information against relevant criminal and threat databases.
  3. Facial recognition. SafeSpace Global’s visual AI may support facial recognition of the driver and cross-reference available threat information where permitted and applicable.
  4. Human verification. The system would alert a SafeSpace Global human analyst, who could track the vehicle and assess available information to help determine whether a potential threat exists.
  5. Confirmed threat response. If a weapon were observed being removed from a vehicle and a threat were verified, the analyst could activate 911inform to initiate a campus alert, notify occupants and assist in routing law enforcement to the incident.

Together, these layers are intended to extend awareness farther from classrooms and populated areas, providing administrators and public safety personnel additional time to evaluate and respond. In correctional environments, similar workflows may support earlier identification of weapons, narcotics and other prohibited materials before entry into secure areas.

SafeSpace Global and BMRT Security intend to continue development and validation of the integrated platform for potential deployment in real-world security environments, subject to testing, regulatory considerations and customer requirements.

“For too long, school security has often been reactive once a threat becomes visible or an incident begins,” said Lee Duke, Cofounder and President of BMRT. “Our technology is designed to support earlier awareness. SafeSpace Global brings AI, human verification and response infrastructure that may help translate early signals into informed action. Together, our goal is to move awareness farther from the classroom and provide additional time for those responsible for safety to respond before a threat reaches the door.”

About BMRT Security, Inc.

BMRT Security, Inc. applies proprietary Base Molecular Resonance (BMR) technology to public safety, law enforcement and national security applications. Developed by Base Molecular Resonance Technologies, LLC, a deep technology company that has described its work as involving a novel area of quantum physics, BMR uses resonant frequencies to identify specific molecular signatures. In independent blind and double-blind testing conducted by the Centre for Applied Innovation at York St John University, the technology reported high levels of accuracy under controlled conditions. It subsequently produced notable results in a United States Combatant Command-sponsored test. Learn more at www.BMRT.io.
